New Delhi: Audi has introduced the A5 e-Hybrid, an advanced plug-in hybrid variant of its popular A5 lineup. Initially launched in July 2024 with petrol and diesel engine options, the Audi A5 is now available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The A5 e-Hybrid comes in both sedan and estate body styles. While this model has not yet arrived in India, its expected price in the Indian market could be around ₹50 lakh if launched.
Audi A5 e-Hybrid: Power and Performance
The Audi A5 e-Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 252 hp. It is paired with an electric motor generating 142 hp, resulting in a combined power output of 300 hp and 450 Nm torque for the sedan version. The estate version offers an even more powerful setup with 367 hp and 500 Nm torque. Both models are equipped with a 7-speed automatic gearbox, ensuring seamless performance and efficiency.
Electric Range and Charging Capabilities
The Audi A5 e-Hybrid is fitted with a 25.9 kWh battery pack, which provides an electric-only driving range of up to 110 km. The battery can be charged using an 11 kW AC charger, which takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. Audi has also enhanced the regenerative braking system to maximize energy recovery and improve efficiency.
Hybrid Mode and Smart Energy Management
When driven in hybrid mode, the Audi A5 e-Hybrid’s advanced energy management system optimizes power usage and conserves battery charge for longer trips. This ensures a seamless driving experience, balancing fuel efficiency and electric power usage effectively.
