Hyundai Motor India, ranked as the third largest automobile manufacturer in the country following Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, is experiencing robust performance primarily due to its successful SUV, the Creta. However, the sales figures for the remainder of the company’s vehicle lineup have seen a notable decline in December.

Decline in sales!

An analysis of Hyundai’s model-specific sales report for the previous month reveals a downturn in sales across various segments, including the Venue, Exterior, Grand i10 Nios, i20, Tucson, Ioniq 5, and more. Conversely, there has been a year-on-year increase in sales for models such as the Creta, Aura, Verna, and Alcazar.

Creta

In December, the Hyundai Creta SUV was purchased by 12,608 customers, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase of 36 percent.

Venue

The Venue emerged as Hyundai Motor India’s second best-selling vehicle for December, with 10,265 units sold, which represents a slight year-on-year decline of one percent.

Hyundai i20 and Grand i10 Nios

The premium hatchback i20 recorded sales of 3,453 units last month, marking a decline of 25 percent compared to the previous year. The entry-level hatchback Grand i10 Nios achieved sales of 4,489 units in December, demonstrating an annual growth of 14 percent.

Tucson

Sales of the Tucson SUV were limited to just 33 units in December, although this figure reflects an impressive annual increase of 84 percent.

Alcazar

The Alcazar, Hyundai Motor India’s seven-seater vehicle, sold 1,342 units in December, showcasing a year-on-year growth of 41 percent.

A sedan pair

The compact sedan Aura recorded sales of 3,852 units last month, which corresponds to a modest annual increase of 1 percent. Additionally, the popular midsize sedan Verna sold 872 units in India during December, representing a year-on-year growth of 22 percent.
