Internationally success
During the launch event, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, remarked, “The introduction of the ‘Made in India’ Jimny 5-door in Japan showcases our strong manufacturing prowess. This is our second model exported to Japan this fiscal year (FY 2024-25), following the Front’s export in August 2024. In FY 2024-25, Jimny has become the second most exported car from Maruti Suzuki. It has seen great success in markets like Mexico, Australia, and South Africa, and we’re optimistic it will also resonate with customers in Japan.”
3-door version was already available in Japan
The 3-door version was already available in Japan, and the company believes that the 5-door variant will boost Jimny’s popularity even further. By positioning India as the main production hub for the 5-door Jimny, Suzuki aims to utilize Maruti Suzuki’s extensive production capabilities to satisfy the rising demand for this iconic off-roader.
