Jaguar I-Pace: In India, Jaguar has de-listed its I-Pace electric SUV from the website. It is being told that the company has discontinued it in the Indian market. According to the report of Overdrive, the company has removed the I-Pace from the website, after which now the company is left with only one model F-Pace. The last price of Jaguar I-Pace was Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom).

The Jaguar I-Pace was launched in India in 2021 and was a huge hit product for the brand. It was one of the first luxury EVs in the country and competed with the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC.

It was offered with two electric motors (one on each axle) with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery and according to WLTP, its range was stated to be 470 km. The electric motors were capable of delivering 400PS of power and 696Nm of torque.

Why the i-Pace was discontinued

Despite being a hit product in the global market, one of the main reasons for the i-Pace being discontinued in India is the huge drop in its sales. The Audi Q8 e-tron surpassed the e-tron’s success and is still in demand.

Mercedes Benz India did not have any success with the EQC but then did not wait too long to replace it with the EQE SUV and apart from that they also launched several other EVs like the EQB, EQS and now the EQA. BMW which came late to this EV space has actually been the most successful here and the iX SUV is the star of the show.

As far as the i-Pace is concerned, Jaguar never updated the car to keep it up to standards. Yes, when the car was launched, there was a lot of talk about the car in terms of its looks, large battery capacity and driving nature.

Its unusual shape makes it fun to drive. The interior of the car was also great in itself. But after 3 years, the car did not manage to keep up with its German rivals.

At present, Jaguar has not informed about launching any new car in India soon. The F-Pace is still doing well for the brand and is priced at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in both petrol and diesel. Let us tell you that Land Rover Jaguar is a owned company of Tata Group.
