Kia Seltos has been well-liked in the Indian market since its launch in 2019. It quickly made its mark due to its excellent design and premium features. But, with the entry of companies like Maruti Suzuki and Skoda in the same segment, it became necessary to update the Seltos from time to time. So far, Seltos has been changed four times, and now it is being introduced in a completely new avatar.
Upcoming Kia Seltos
According to reports, the upcoming Kia Seltos can be launched with a powerful hybrid engine. The new generation Kia Seltos can be launched by mid-2025. Changes are also expected in its design. Let’s know more about it.
One of the biggest updates to the new generation Kia Seltos could be the introduction of a petrol-hybrid powertrain. According to several media reports, Kia is working on a strong hybrid powertrain for India, which could start with the new generation of Kia Seltos.
The strong hybrid technology is expected to be offered with Kia’s existing 1.2L and 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engines. There is also speculation that the new Seltos could also get a 141bhp, 1.6L hybrid powertrain with an AWD setup. Apart from this, it can also offer a mileage of up to 20 kmpl, making it one of the most economical cars in the segment.
Upcoming Kia Seltos Hybrid
The design of the new Seltos will be heavily inspired by the Kia EV5 sold in select global markets. The headlamps will have a sharp design, with an LED element connecting both clusters.
In this, the front grille will take a rectangular shape with vertical slats. However, the SUV will retain its basic silhouette and most of the signature design elements. However, official information about it has not been revealed yet.
Competition
Currently, Kia Seltos competes with models like Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, and Skoda Kushaq in the Indian market. If it is launched in a hybrid avatar, it will give tough competition to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid. This hybrid technology can put it one step ahead of its competitors.
