Kia India is now preparing to launch its brand new SUV car Siros in the Indian market. According to reports, the company has also started offline booking of this car at some dealerships. Siros will be positioned between Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s existing portfolio, making it an attractive option for mid-segment SUV buyers.
Kia Siros will be introduced in the global market on December 19. After this, this SUV will be brought to the public for the first time at the India Mobility Show to be held in January. According to media reports, its starting ex-showroom price can be around Rs 9 lakh. Delivery is likely to start in late January or early February next year.
Multiple engine and transmission options
This SUV will be offered with multiple engine and transmission options like Sonet in terms of performance. The entry-level variant is expected to get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will generate 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque.
Apart from this, there will also be an option of a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, which will produce 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. With this engine, there will be an option of 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed clutchless manual transmission.
For those who want a diesel engine, there will be an option of the 1.5-litre engine, which will generate 114bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. This engine will come with a 6-speed clutchless manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Who will compete with
Interestingly, at present, Kia Siros does not have direct competition from any other SUV in the Indian market. It has been specially designed for those customers who want a car with strong features and performance at an affordable price.
How much this new offering of Kia India will make a splash in the market will be known only after the launch and sale starts. At present, tremendous enthusiasm is being seen among the customers about this SUV.
