Hyundai Creta Electric is set to debut in the Indian market on January 17, with bookings already open for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000. The anticipated ex-showroom price is around Rs 17 lakh.

Creta Electric is expected to compete with these cars

This new electric SUV will be offered in 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone color options, and it will be available in four main variants: Executive, Premium, Excellence, and Smart. The Creta Electric is expected to compete with models such as the Tata Curvv EV, Maruti E Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, and MG ZS EV.

Battery and range

Customers will have the choice between two battery configurations: a 42kWh pack with an ARAI-rated range of 390 km and a 51.4kWh pack offering a range of 473 km. Notably, the top-tier Excellence variant will not be available with the smaller battery option. Details regarding the electric motor have yet to be disclosed. Additionally, a DC fast charger option will allow for an 80% charge in just 58 minutes.

Special features of the vehicle

The vehicle features a closed grille equipped with active air flaps to optimize airflow and enhance cooling. Its shift-by-wire system facilitates smooth gear transitions. A digital key feature enables users to lock or unlock the vehicle via their smartphones, with compatibility for smartwatches as well. The SUV also includes a Vehicle to Load capability, similar to the Ford F-150, allowing it to serve as a power source for laptops and other devices. It is reported that the Creta Electric can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and comes equipped with a 360-degree camera and level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
