Land Rover Defender 2025: The luxury SUV is now available in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). This model has been launched in its 2025 version, featuring not only the existing turbocharged petrol and diesel engines but also a new V8 engine.
All variants with new powerful engine
This new engine option is available across all three variants of the luxury SUV: Defender 90, Defender 110, and Defender 130. The V8 variant is priced approximately Rs 35 lakh higher than the base model. The 2025 Defender competes with premium vehicles such as the BMW X7, Mercedes GLC, Jeep Wrangler, Range Rover Velar, and Volvo XC90 in India’s luxury segment.
Features and specifications
The updates include new features available in the X-Dynamic, HSE, and X trims of the Defender SUV. It is now equipped with a powerful V8 P425 5.0-liter petrol engine, delivering around 425 bhp and peak torque of 610 Nm. Additionally, the SUV offers 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines, along with a high-end Octa variant featuring a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine, the most powerful in the Defender lineup, producing 626 bhp and 750 Nm of peak torque.
The exterior design has been refreshed with elements such as Matrix LED headlights with DRLs, a contrasting black roof, and 20-inch all-terrain satin dark grey alloy wheels. The SUV also includes a soft-close tailgate. Enhanced with Terrain Response and Configurable Terrain Response features, it allows for customized settings to navigate challenging terrains.
The vehicle is equipped with electronic air suspension and adaptive dynamics for improved ride quality. In addition to the more powerful engine, the interior has been upgraded with new Windsor leather seats, 14-way heated and cooled front seats featuring memory functions and winged headrests, climate-controlled second-row seats, nubuck-edged carpet mats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
