Mahindra has introduced special Black Editions for two of its popular SUVs, the XUV700 and Scorpio N. Both the XUV700 Ebony Edition and the Scorpio N Carbon Edition are grabbing attention with their all-black design and premium features. But the question is, which of these two SUVs is better for you? So let’s compare their design, features and performance.
Front Design
Talking about its front design, the XUV700 Ebony Edition has a black out front grille and silver skid plate, which gives it an aggressive look. At the same time, the Scorpio N Carbon Edition has a chrome finish grille and all-black skid plate. Both the SUVs are beautiful in their own style, but the design of the XUV700 looks a bit more modern.

Side Profile
Talking about the side profile, both the SUVs have 18-inch all-black alloy wheels. The XUV700 Ebony Edition has an ‘Ebony’ badge on the front fender and flush-type door handles, which give it a premium look. At the same time, the Scorpio N Carbon Edition has conventional door handles, but its muscular design gives it a distinct identity.
Rear Design
Now talking about the rear design, the XUV700 Ebony Edition has wraparound LED tail lights, rear wiper, roof-mounted spoiler and silver skid plate. Also, the ‘Ebony Edition’ badge is also given on the tailgate. The Scorpio N Carbon Edition has tail lights with black inserts and dark chrome door handle inserts. The rear design of both the SUVs is quite attractive, but the design of the XUV700 looks a bit more futuristic.
Interior
Both SUVs feature an all-black cabin theme and black leather seats. The XUV700 Ebony Edition features dark chrome elements, dual 10.25-inch displays (for infotainment and instrumentation), and a 12-speaker Sony sound system. Also, it gets a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 6-way adjustable driver seat and wireless phone charger.
The Scorpio N Carbon Edition has an 8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital driver display, single-pane sunroof and 12-speaker Sony sound system. It also has features like ventilated seats, wireless charger and automatic headlights.
Saftey Features
Talking about safety features, the XUV700 Ebony Edition has features like 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The Scorpio N Carbon Edition has features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and driver drowsiness detection. Both the SUVs are excellent in terms of safety, but advanced features like ADAS in the XUV700 take it a bit further.
Engine
The XUV700 Ebony Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 200 PS power and 380 Nm torque. Apart from this, a 2.2-litre diesel engine is also available, which produces 185 PS power and 450 Nm torque. Both engines come with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.
At the same time, the Scorpio N Carbon Edition comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 203 PS power and 370-380 Nm torque. Its 2.2-liter diesel engine generates 175 PS power and 370-400 Nm torque. 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options are also provided in Scorpio N.

Price
Now let’s talk about the price of both, the XUV700 Ebony Edition is between Rs 19.64 lakh to Rs 24.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scorpio N Carbon Edition is between Rs 19.19 lakh to Rs 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of both the SUVs are almost the same, but the advanced features and add-ons like ADAS in the XUV700 Ebony Edition make it a little more value for money.
