The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has set a new record for the sale of its popular compact sedan car Dzire. Dzire is India’s best-selling sedan and has been number 1 in the sedan segment for the last 16 years. Dzire is exported to 48 countries and this car is India’s fourth.
Maruti Suzuki said that it has completed the production of 30 lakh units of Dzire, which is a major achievement. Maruti Suzuki first launched the Dzire in the year 2008, followed by its 2nd generation model in 2012 and its 3rd generation model in 2017. Apart from this, the 4th generation Dzire was launched in November 2024. This has been the first car of the company to get 5-star safety.
Dzire shines not only in India but also abroad
Maruti Dzire is a family car that is very popular not only in India but also abroad. Since 2008, about 2.6 lakh units of Dzire have been exported to 48 countries. The company mainly covers major regions of South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. In the financial year 2023-24, Dzire was the second largest of Maruti Suzuki’s most exported models.

On the strength of Dzire, the company has remained the leader of the sedan segment for 16 years.
The new avatar of Dzire
Recently Maruti Suzuki has launched its new 4th generation Dzire with new design, features, and engine. The price of this car starts from Rs 6.79 lakh. This engine generates 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of peak torque.
At the same time, the optional hybrid petrol with its CNG powertrain will only get a 5-speed manual transmission. This car offers a mileage of 24.79 kmpl in manual mode, 25.71 kmpl in AMT mode, and 33.73 km/kg on CNG.
