Maruti Suzuki will launch the fourth generation Dzire in late 2024, which has replaced the older model for private buyers. However, the third generation is still available for fleet owners as the Dzire Tour. If you are also planning to buy the new Dzire Petrol AMT and are confused about mileage, then this article is for you. We have done a real-world mileage test of this car and the results may surprise you!

How is the mileage in the city

We drove the Maruti Dzire Petrol AMT for 78.3 km in urban areas and consumed 5.55 liters of petrol. This means a real-world mileage of 14.1kmpl. The mileage was good due to the light body of the car (970 kg). However, the instrument cluster showed 12.7kmpl, which was less than our expectations. Mileage is often affected due to traffic, signals and stop-and-go conditions in the city, but the Dzire is still performing well.

How is the mileage on the highway

We drove the Maruti Dzire Petrol AMT for 80.8km on the highway, consuming 4.16 liters of petrol. Its actual mileage was 19.42kmpl, which is great! Slightly less than the company’s claim, but excellent for an automatic car. The MID display showed 18.5kmpl, which was slightly less than the actual mileage. The Dzire’s 37-liter fuel tank enables it to give a range of more than 500 km, eliminating the need to refuel frequently during long drives.

Maruti Dzire Petrol AMT Mileage

  • Dzire is a light car, so its mileage is better than other sedans.
  • 14-15kmpl in the city and 19-20kmpl on the highway are common mileage.
  • The Idle Start/Stop feature helps save fuel, but doesn’t seem to be of much use in traffic.
  • The 37-litre fuel tank makes it perfect for long drives.
  • The company claims 25.71kmpl, but in real life it will be slightly less.

Engine and Power of Maruti Dzire Petrol AMT

The new Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine that generates 80bhp of power and 112Nm of torque.

  • In the CNG variant, this power is reduced to 69bhp and 102Nm.
  • Idle Start/Stop feature is available, which improves fuel efficiency.
  • It has the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox.
  • According to the company’s claim, the Petrol AMT variant can give a mileage of up to 25.71kmpl.
  • But how is the mileage of Dzire in real life? Let’s find out.
