The new-generation Dzire has been designed to be more luxurious by the company, and now it’s being considered a premium sedan. This means it competes directly with the Honda Amaze. Both the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze come with 1.2-liter petrol engines, but there is a difference in the number of cylinders. The Dzire is equipped with a three-cylinder engine, while the Amaze comes with a four-cylinder engine. In terms of output, the Amaze produces 90hp, which is more than Dzire’s 82hp. Interestingly, the Maruti Suzuki sedan generates 2Nm more torque than the Amaze. Both cars are available with manual and automatic transmission options. The Honda Amaze features a CVT, while the Dzire comes with a 5-speed AMT. In this configuration, the Dzire is 26 kilograms lighter than the Amaze.

Talking about the real-world mileage of the Honda Amaze petrol CVT, it delivered 9.94 kmpl in the city, while on the highway, it gave 16.62 kmpl. This gives an average mileage of 13.28 kmpl. However, the company claims an ARAI mileage of 19.46 kmpl for the Amaze. This means it delivered 6.18 kmpl less than the claimed figure.
Now let’s look at the real-world mileage of the Maruti Dzire petrol AMT. In the city, it offered 11.61 kmpl, and on the highway, it gave 19.22 kmpl. This results in an average mileage of 15.41 kmpl. Although the company claims an ARAI mileage of 25.71 kmpl, it fell short by 10.3 kmpl in real conditions. So, the Dzire delivered 2.13 kmpl more mileage than the Amaze in this comparison.
