Maruti Suzuki has completed preparations to enter the electric car market. The country’s largest car company will enter this segment with the first electric car, e VITARA. Maruti has designed it as a strong and rough-tough electric SUV. Recently, its performance was tested in a snowy environment. In India, e Vitara will compete with electric car companies like Tata and Mahindra.
The Maruti e Vitara electric car will be launched not only in India but also in international markets like Europe and Japan. It will have a dual motor 4WD system, which will give you a great off-road ride. The company has checked the performance of the e Vitara amid snowfall conditions in Japan.
e VITARA will be made in Gujarat
The popularity of electric cars is increasing worldwide. Maruti Suzuki will also enter this market with e Vitara. It will be launched in 2025. The Toyota version of the Maruti e Vitara – Urban Cruiser EV has also been revealed. Both these electric SUVs will be produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant.
Testing is done in snow
Suzuki tested the prototype of the e-Vitara on snow in Hokkaido, Japan. The purpose of this testing was to identify any possible problems while driving in challenging terrain and low temperatures. In this test, the e-Vitara was seen running smoothly in the snow. This will help in making the new electric car capable of giving good performance even in harsh environments.
Battery pack and features
Maruti e-Vitara will be offered in two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery pack will be launched with a 2WD option, while the larger battery pack will have both 2WD and 4WD options. Features like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), LED headlight and taillight, panoramic sunroof, and large infotainment screen will be provided in this electric car.
