Maruti Jimny: Maruti Suzuki’s ‘Made in India’ Jimny 5-door has officially launched in Japan, following its initial introduction in India during the Auto Expo 2023. This model has quickly ascended to become the company’s second most exported vehicle for the financial year 2024-25.

Jimny 5-door is produced in Gurugram

The Jimny 5-door is produced at Maruti Suzuki’s facility located in Gurugram, Haryana, and is now being exported to approximately 100 countries worldwide, including its recent entry into the Japanese market. Following the Maruti Fronx, this marks the second SUV to be exported to Japan in the financial year 2024-25.

Equipped with a 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine

The Jimny 5-door is equipped with a 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 103 hp and 134.2 Nm of peak torque. It offers both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options. The manual variant of the Japanese specification Jimny achieves a fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl, while the automatic variant provides 16.39 kmpl. Designed as an off-road SUV, it features a 4×4 system.

Safety features

In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with six airbags, ABS, EBD, stability control, hill hold control, hill descent control, brake assist, a rearview camera, seatbelt pretensioners, and an engine immobilizer.
