Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: one of India’s oldest and most popular cars, has been recalled due to a gearbox defect. And vehicle owners have been advised not to drive their car until the issue is resolved by the service centre. Earlier, Maruti had recalled around 15,000 Baleno and WagonR units in March and around 87,600 S-Presso and Eeco models last month.

What was wrong with these vehicles?

Maruti Suzuki has said that the Alto K10s that have a steering gearbox defect will be examined and fixed by its service centres. No charges will be levied on customers for this. The statement issued by the carmaker said, “The reported defect may, in rare cases, affect the steering ability of the vehicle. As a precaution, customers of the affected vehicles are advised not to drive or use the vehicle until the parts are replaced.” Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Specifications

Engine Power and Mileage

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 New Generation model gets a 1.0-litre K-series dual-jet, dual VVT engine. It has manual and auto gear shift (AGS) transmission. The Alto K10 is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in the Indian market. The company claims to offer mileage of up to 24.90 km per liter in this car.

The cabin of the Alto K10 features a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The hatchback also features like remote key access, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted controls. It also gets safety features like, dual front airbags, speed sensing door lock.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is going to be launched on August 18, 2022 at just starting (ex showroom)price of Rs 3.99 lakh. Available in nine variants including the CNG version of the hatchback, the Alto K10 is priced up to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom). In its new generation, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 comes with several changes over its previous model. the hatchback gets an updated design with new grille, headlight and taillight units.
