Maruti Suzuki Sedan: Maruti Suzuki’s newly launched Dzire has made a significant impact upon its arrival in the Indian market. In December 2024, the Dzire not only retained its title as the best-selling sedan in the country but also secured the third position in the overall top-10 car sales list. It outperformed competitors such as the Tata Punch, Hyundai Creta, and Mahindra Scorpio, with sales reaching 16,573 units last month, compared to 14,012 units in December 2023, reflecting an 18% decline in sales.
Updated Dzire features
The updated Dzire features a bold front bumper, stylish LED headlights with horizontal daytime running lights, a wide grille with multiple horizontal slats, and redesigned fog lamp housings, while maintaining a silhouette similar to its predecessor. The sedan’s shoulder line has been enhanced for a more pronounced look. Additional design elements include a shark fin antenna, a boot lid spoiler, and Y-shaped LED taillights connected by a chrome strip. Inside, the Dzire showcases a beige and black color scheme with faux wood accents on the dashboard.
It is equipped with an analog driver display, cruise control, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, air conditioning with rear vents, and a single-pane sunroof.
Engine and power
Under the hood, the new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine sourced from the Swift, delivering a maximum power output of 80bhp and peak torque of 112Nm. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission and will be available in LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus variants. The revised compact sedan is equipped with numerous safety features, including rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), six standard airbags, and a 360-degree camera, a first in its segment.
The ex-showroom price of the updated Dzire is expected to be around Rs 6.70 lakh, positioning it against competitors like the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze.
