Maruti Swift: Maruti has introduced the Swift as its first hatchback equipped with six airbags. Although the new Swift has yet to undergo testing with the Indian NCAP, expectations are high for its performance based on the Dzire, which achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP. This marked a significant milestone as it was the first vehicle from Maruti to earn such a rating.
Swift Hybrid has been spotted
Recently, the Swift Hybrid has been spotted undergoing tests in the Delhi NCR region, generating buzz about its hybrid variant. Unlike the previous test mule that displayed a hybrid badge, this one does not feature it. A video from True Car Advice highlights the Swift Hybrid’s key differences, including a sportier design with updated front and rear bumpers, enhanced black accents for a sleeker look, and a silver trim on the lower front bumper. A radar module integrated into the front grille adds to its safety appeal, suggesting a potential for a 5-star safety rating similar to its JDM counterpart.
JDM Swift comes with an advanced ADAS
In comparison to the Indian version, the JDM Swift comes with an advanced ADAS suite that boosts safety features. Additionally, it offers options like an electronic parking brake and heated seats, which are not available in the Indian model. The JDM Swift Hybrid is powered by a 1.2-litre Z12E engine paired with a CVT gearbox, featuring mild-hybrid technology that optimizes fuel efficiency through an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) powered by a dedicated battery.
The Swift Hybrid claims an impressive mileage of 24.5 km/l combined, while the JDM Suzuki Swift Sport offers 20.8 km/l in urban settings, 24.8 km/l in suburban areas, and 26.3 km/l on highways.
