Maruti Fronx: This year, Maruti is set to expand its lineup with the introduction of several hybrid models. One such model, the Maruti Swift Hybrid, has been spotted undergoing road tests in the Delhi NCR region, while the Fronx Hybrid has been observed on the streets of Gurgaon.

What we can expect from this new car

The Fronx features a visible hybrid badge on its rear, indicating that Maruti may soon launch this hybrid vehicle. This article will provide insights into the new features, engine specifications, expected mileage, and anticipated launch date of the Fronx Hybrid.

Can be integrated with the new Z12E engine

Reports indicate that the Fronx badge seen during testing was positioned above the ‘Hybrid’ emblem. It is anticipated that Maruti Suzuki’s hybrid technology will be integrated with the new Z12E engine, which is already utilized in the latest Swift model. This advanced hybrid system is expected to be featured in entry-level SUVs, including the Fronx, and may also be available in the next-generation Baleno.

The Z12E petrol engine in Maruti’s forthcoming vehicle produces 81.58 PS and 111.7 Nm of torque, with the new Swift achieving fuel efficiencies of 24.8 km/l in the manual variant and 25.75 km/l with the AMT option.

Maruti’s robust hybrid system is likely to differ from the hybrid configurations found in models such as the Grand Vitara and Invicto. This system is expected to function as a range extender, utilizing the petrol powertrain to recharge the battery pack, while an electric motor will drive the vehicle’s wheels instead of the petrol engine.

It is projected that the Fronx Hybrid could achieve fuel efficiency exceeding 30 km/l. The current Fronx model on the market is equipped with a 1.2-litre K series engine, delivering 89.73 PS and 113 Nm of torque.
