Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid: India’s leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is swiftly broadening its range of vehicles. The company is set to introduce several hybrid models into its lineup. Recently, the Fronx Hybrid was observed undergoing tests on Indian roads. Here are the details regarding this forthcoming hybrid variant of the Fronx.

Spotted during testing

The Maruti Fronx Hybrid was seen testing in Gurgaon (Gurugram) without any camouflage. In the latest spy images, the ‘Fronx’ and ‘Hybrid’ badges are prominently displayed at the rear of the vehicle. Unlike the standard model, where the ‘Fronx’ badge is positioned on the left, this variant features the badge on the right, positioned above ‘Hybrid’.

New strong hybrid system

Maruti’s new strong hybrid system has been specifically engineered for entry-level SUVs like the Fronx. This system will differ from the existing hybrid technology found in the Grand Vitara and Invicto. The primary focus of this system will be on range extension, utilizing the petrol engine to recharge the battery pack, while the electric motor will handle all driving functions.

New Z12E petrol engine

The new Z12E petrol engine, already utilized in the latest Swift, will be integrated into this hybrid configuration. This engine is capable of producing 81.58 PS of power and 111.7 Nm of torque. In conjunction with the new Swift, this engine achieves a fuel efficiency of 24.8 KMPL with manual transmission and 25.75 KMPL with AMT. The upcoming Fronx Strong Hybrid is anticipated to deliver a mileage exceeding 30 km/l.

Presently, the Fronx is equipped with a 1.2-liter K-series engine, generating 89.73 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The manual variant offers a mileage of 21.79 km/l, while the AMT variant provides a mileage of 22.89 km/l.
