Hyundai India is expanding its electric vehicle offerings in response to the growing demand in the Indian market. The company recently launched the much-anticipated Hyundai Creta EV at the Auto Expo 2025 on January 17.
Three new cars on the line,
Following this debut, Hyundai plans to roll out three more electric models in the coming years. During the Creta EV launch, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai India, stated, “We will be launching three more mass-market EVs that will be produced locally in India.” However, he did not provide specific details regarding the models or their release dates.
One potential addition is the Hyundai Inster-based EV, which is expected to arrive by mid-2026 and is designed to compete with the Punch EV. In the global market, the Inster offers two battery options, 42kWh and 49kWh, with a driving range of up to 355 km. The starting ex-showroom price for the Inster EV is projected to be around Rs 12 lakh. Furthermore, Hyundai plans to introduce all-electric versions of the Venue and Grand i10 Nios in India, with reports indicating that both models could have their EV variants available by 2027. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is expected to be the brand’s entry-level electric vehicle.
Hyundai Creta EV features
The Hyundai Creta EV is equipped with a host of safety features, including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, auto hill control, advanced electronic stability control, a vehicle stability management system, ISOFIX child safety seat support, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The vehicle also supports Level 2 ADAS features. It boasts three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sports—and Hyundai claims it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The starting price for the electric version of the Hyundai Creta is Rs 17 lakh 99 thousand (ex-showroom), which covers the base variant of this model.
