TVS Apache RTR 160 and Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 are India’s two most popular sports bikes. Both of them boast quite impressive features, fabulous designs, and powerhouse engines. Be it performance or affordability, there is lot to satiate this in either of these bikes. Price of TVS Apache RTR 160 and Yamaha MT 15 V2.0

The ex-showroom price for the TVS Apache RTR 160 has been priced at ₹1,20,420 in Delhi. Starting from ₹1.44 lakh for on-road Delhi and ₹1.41 lakh for other cities, this can be perceived as a relatively affordable sports bike. Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 is more costly, however, as with an ex-showroom cost staring at ₹1,68,200, while on-road prices will be ₹2 lakh in Delhi. Both models are expected to arrive with an array of festive offers this October.

 

Engine and Power

TVS Apache RTR 160 used a 159.7cc engine and had a power output of 16.04 PS with a torque of 13.85 Nm. In the case of Yamaha MT 15 V2.0, it used a 155cc cc engine but had more power at 18.4 PS with a torque of 14.1 Nm. Yamaha provided the riders with a good power cycle and performance. The ride was given a perfect balance by TVS that was decent power provided to the vehicle.

Mileage Comparison

The Apache RTR 160 is quite fuel-efficient, ensuring that it delivers up to 47 kmpl. For those who believe that fuel efficiency shouldn’t be sacrificed for better performance, Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 shines with a stunning mileage of 56.87 kmpl.

Body and Frame

Both of the motorcycles are sports bikes. While the TVS Apache RTR 160 boasts of a Double Cradle Synchro STIFF frame, the Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 owns a Deltabox frame. It is the Deltabox of Yamaha that ensures sharp handling and stability during the aggressive ride while for the city ride, TVS offers stable, predictable handling.

Suspension and Brakes

Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 features the inverted fork, thus it will have sporty handling but the suspension of the TVS Apache RTR 160 is conventional. Not to forget that Yamaha provides larger brake discs, Yamaha has a 282mm front disc as compared to that of TVS’s 270mm. Their bikes have provided both LED headlights and taillights for better visibility.

Dimensions and Weight

The TVS Apache RTR 160 is slightly longer at 2085mm, and the width of its fuel tank is 730mm along with a maximum fuel capacity of 12 liters. Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 is rather compact with 2015mm in length and 800mm in width; the fuel tank size is smaller, measuring at 10 liters. The TVS bike gives a more substantial feeling; Yamaha is more sleek and light.

Color Options and Features

TVS Apache RTR 160 offers seven color options, whereas Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 offers eight. Yamaha also stands out with Bluetooth connectivity, gear position indicator, and advanced features in the Y-Connect app. Connectivity features are not available in the TVS. Several ride modes like Rain, Sports, and Urban are offered by the TVS but lack connectivity features.
