New Delhi: Tata Motors unveiled the near-production version of the all-new Tata Sierra SUV at the Auto Expo 2024, generating immense excitement among car enthusiasts. The company has now confirmed that the final production version will hit showrooms in the second half of 2025, likely around the Diwali season. What makes the upcoming Tata Sierra stand out is its availability in three different powertrains – petrol, diesel, and electric, catering to a wide range of buyers.

Tata Sierra Price Expectations

The ICE (internal combustion engine) version of the Tata Sierra is expected to have a starting price of around ₹10.50 lakh, while the electric variant might cost approximately ₹25 lakh for the base model. The competitive pricing aims to position the SUV as a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment.

Expected Engine Specifications

While official details are yet to be revealed, industry experts predict that the Tata Sierra ICE model will come with two engine choices:

  • 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine – Expected to generate 170PS power and 280Nm torque.
  • 2.0L Diesel Engine – Likely to produce 118PS power and 260Nm torque.

Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT automatic, ensuring a dynamic driving experience.

Tata Sierra EV Battery and Range

The electric iteration of the Tata Sierra is rumored to feature a 60kWh battery pack with a dual-motor AWD setup for the higher trims. This powerful battery pack is expected to offer a range of up to 500km on a full charge. Lower trims might come equipped with a smaller battery pack to offer a more budget-friendly option.

There are also speculations that Tata might introduce a 4X4 drivetrain for the ICE-powered Sierra, significantly enhancing its off-road capabilities.

High-Tech Features in Tata Sierra

The Tata Sierra EV will be built on the Acti.ev platform, which also underpins the Tata Punch EV and Curvv EV. The showcased near-production model revealed a three-screen setup, including:

  • A central infotainment touchscreen
  • A passenger-side display
  • A fully digital instrument cluster

Additional premium features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
