The Honda WR-V is finding it hard to increase its sales in the country. While all the competition sold a minimum of 2500 units in February, the WR-V managed to sell only 1004 units.
The Honda WR-V was the least-bought car in the segment. In this article, we will understand why the Honda WR-V does not sell in good numbers.
Looks
The WR-V looks like similar to crossover rather than a compact SUV model. This rear factor alone bring a side it below the competition.
The other cars in the segment have a tall look and look like compact SUVs both inside and outside.
Also, Car have low ground clearance that means it is another factor why buyers don’t look at the WR-V when they are considering to buy a compact SUV for themselves.
The WR-V looks like the Jazz with a few changes. People do not find it justified to pay an extra price for almost the same product.
Lack of Features in Honda WR-V
Features are something that has become the top priority of buyers nowadays. With every competitor trying to add as many features as possible to the product, the WR-V is not a leader here either.
Basic features like adjustable headrests and 2nd-row charging ports are missing on the WR-V.
The biggest one is the diesel engine option. With most of the competition offering their cars with diesel engines, Honda’s decision not to offer a diesel engine costs the company a lot. Also, connected car technology is another feature that the WR-V lacks.
Better Alternatives
The Honda WR-V is priced between Rs 10.06 lakh to Rs 13.31 lakh (Mumbai on-road), the same price bracket in which most of the competition is also offered.
With many more features and the proper look of an SUV, the other competition takes a huge lead over the WR-V.
Also, the fourth-generation Honda City, which is still being sold in the market, offers better space and features than the WR-V, and that too at a lesser cost.
The Honda WR-V needs to improve in several areas to strengthen its position in the market. Upgrading the look, features and engine options can help the company boost sales.
It is also important that Honda compares the WR-V with its competitors and makes the necessary changes to meet the needs of their customers.
