Toyota think tank back on their blackboard to make something new like the Toyota Mini Fortuner. It is now heavily speculated that Toyota is working on a new plan to introduce in the present Indian automobile market. As we know, in recent days buyers have had interests in SUVs and compact SUVs. There are two different types of buyers in the Indian market; some want to buy a full size SUV car like the Mahindra Scorpio or Scorpio N, the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari.

On the other hand, some buyers are looking for a small budget car that fits a small family. In this category we can take as examples like Tata Nexon, Tata Punch, Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Exter, etc. As per reports, Toyota wants to create something smaller than Fortuner, which can directly compete with Scorpio and Mahindra Thar Roxx. According to ongoing speculations, Toyota will introduce a mini Fortuner in a few years to take on both of these SUVs.

Toyota’s new SUV will be on a monocoque-based 4×4, which will bridge the gap between the company’s current models, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Fortuner. The Toyota new SUV will not be body-on-frame like the Fortuner but will be built on an all-new flexible platform that will support a variety of body styles and powertrains.

This new SUV will be designed keeping in mind Toyota’s traditional strong off-road capabilities, with high ground clearance and rugged looks. It is expected to launch with petrol and strong hybrid variants, which could have a 2.0-litre petrol engine and hybrid system like the Innova Hycross.

An all-electric variant could also be introduced in the future, although diesel variants are unlikely. It is also believed This new mini Fortuner from Toyota will be ready for production from 2027 at the company’s new Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) plant. The new SUV will be priced lower than the Fortuner so that it can emerge as an affordable option against the Mahindra Scorpio N and Thar Roxx.
