In the ongoing financial year, specifically from April to November, 1.8 crore vehicles were sold nationwide. There has been a yearly increase of 11%. In this, 1.33 crore vehicles were sold solely in the two-wheeler category. This was a 14% increase compared to the same period from the previous year. In November 2024, the number of vehicles sold in the country exceeded 32 lakh. There has been an increase of 11.21% in comparison to November of the previous year. In this timeframe, over 26 lakh two-wheelers were sold, reflecting a 15.80% increase compared to November 2023. The Federation of Automobile Associations (FADA) has published the sales report for vehicles sold in the fiscal year 2025 and November 2024.

 

In November, Hero achieved the highest sales of two-wheelers, with a total of 9,15,468 units sold. The firm led the ranking by selling the highest number of vehicles in this category, achieving a 35% market share. In the passenger vehicle category, Maruti Suzuki led the rankings by selling 1,28,521 cars, capturing a 39.92% market share.

Tata Motors’ overall sales increased

Tata Motors’ overall sales increased slightly to 74,753 units in November 2024, up from 74,172 units in the same month last year. Tata Motors announced that its domestic vehicle sales in the previous month increased by approximately 1 percent, reaching 73,246 units compared to 72,647 units in November 2023.

MG Motor’s sales increased

JSW MG Motor’s sales increased by 20 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 6,019 units in November 2024. The automaker reported that the electric vehicle Windsor maintained its robust performance for the second month in a row, achieving sales of 3,144 units. The firm stated that New Energy Vehicles (NEV) made up 70 percent of the sales in the previous month.

Toyota’s overall sales rose by 44 percent

In November 2024, Toyota Kirloskar recorded sales of 25,586 vehicles. In the same month last year, the company sold 17,818 cars. Toyota’s overall sales rose by 44 percent last month compared to the same time last year.

Hyundai’s sales have dropped by 7 percent

Hyundai Motor’s overall sales reached 61,252 units in November 2024. The firm sold 65,801 cars in the corresponding month of the previous year. Hyundai’s sales have dropped by 7 percent year-over-year.
