This scooter is safe for CNG usage
TVS has incorporated a 1.4 kg CNG fuel tank into the new Jupiter CNG, strategically positioned in the boot space beneath the seat. The company asserts that this scooter is exceptionally safe for CNG usage. It is claimed that the Jupiter CNG will achieve a mileage of up to 84 km per kilogram of CNG, while its combined petrol and CNG mileage is estimated to be around 226 km. The scooter features an OBD2B compliant engine that produces 5.3 bhp of power and 9.4 Nm of torque.
Largest seat in its category
Notably, the Jupiter CNG boasts the largest seat in its category, along with features such as a metal body, an external fuel lid, and an all-in-one locking mechanism. Currently, TVS stands alone in the market with a CNG scooter, positioning the company to gain a competitive advantage. The design of the Jupiter CNG closely mirrors that of its petrol counterpart, although some modifications may be anticipated at the time of launch. Additionally, the new CNG scooter is equipped with a 2-liter petrol fuel tank, with the nozzle located in the front apron.
The Jupiter CNG is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine, with a reported top speed of 80 km/h. The starting price for the new scooter is expected to be around Rs 95,000, while the current pricing for the petrol variant of the Jupiter ranges from Rs 88,174 (ex-showroom) to Rs 99,015 (ex-showroom).
