Yamaha MT-09 SP 2025: Yamaha introduced its amazing naked bike MT-09 SP in a new and attractive avatar at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025. With a new design, new colors, and many great features, this bike looks more powerful than ever. Let us know what new changes have been made to the Yamaha MT-09 SP and when it will be launched in India.

Now even more safe and reliable

The new Yamaha MT-09 SP has a lightweight aluminium frame. There is a 41 mm USD fork at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. For braking, it has a 298 mm disc at the front and a 245 mm disc brake at the rear, making the braking system better than before.

Engine

The new Yamaha MT-09 SP has the same old 890 cc, inline 3-cylinder engine. This engine generates 117 BHP of power at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Y-AMT version does not have a clutch lever. Instead, the bike relies on an actuator to operate gears based on throttle input, lean angle, etc. However, the motorcycle introduced at the Auto Expo 2025 was a 6-speed manual version, and this will be launched in India.

Features

The new Yamaha MT-09 SP gets bi-functional LED headlights and minimal bodywork. It has a 2-piece stepped seat and a TFT color display.

This Yamaha motorcycle has three riding modes: Sport, Street, and Rain. As for safety features, the MT-09 SP comes with a 6-axis IMU with a back slip regulator, traction control, slide control system, and front wheel lift control system.

When will it be launched in India

The new Yamaha MT-09 SP is expected to be launched in India in May-June 2025. It will be brought as a CBU only if a customer orders it. Its price in India can be around ₹ 13 lakh. In the Indian market, it will compete with the Triumph Street Triple RS (₹ 11.81 lakh) and the Ducati Monster SP (₹ 15.95 lakh).
