Yamaha Rajpoot: Numerous impressive motorcycles are emerging both in the country and globally. The introduction of electric bikes marks a significant development, yet there was a period when only a limited number of motorcycles were operational in India. Notable models from that era included the Enfield Bullet, Yamaha Yezdi, and Rajdoot.
Mainly known for sound and mileage
The Enfield Bullet was distinguished by its distinctive heavy sound, while the Rajdoot earned the title of “mileage king.” During the 1970s, the Rajdoot motorcycle dominated the Indian market, with Bollywood superstar Dharmendra, known as He-Man, featuring in its advertisements. Currently, this mileage champion is set to make a comeback.
May be equipped with a 3000-watt battery
According to speculations, the new Rajdoot electric bike may be equipped with a 3000-watt BLDC motor and a lithium-ion battery of approximately 4.0 kilowatts. It is anticipated that this battery will provide a range of around 150 kilometers on a full charge, with a top speed of approximately 100 kilometers per hour. Although Yamaha, the two-wheeler manufacturer, has not yet issued an official statement, discussions in the media indicate that the company is preparing to launch an electric version of the Rajdoot within the next year.
It is expected to include a TFT instrument cluster display
Speculations suggest that the new electric Rajdoot may feature a single disc brake at the front and disc brakes on the rear wheels. Additionally, it is expected to include a TFT instrument cluster display, with an estimated weight of around 115 kg. Regarding pricing, it is projected that the motorcycle will be priced between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1.60 lakh upon its market release.
