According to media reports, on the basis of AICPI IW index data from January to June 2024, it has been decided that the employees will get DA with a 3 percent increase from July 2024, which is after the increase of 1.5 points in the June AICPI index.
The latest reports suggest a 3% increase in DA. Recently, discussions suggested a potential 4% increase. It will be announced in the cabinet meeting to be held on September 25 September.
An employee earning Rs 50,000 will see a monthly increase of Rs 1500 at a 3% rate. The Seventh Pay Commission’s rules mandate DA increases twice a year, with the rates taking effect from 1 January and 1 July.
The 18-month DA arrears have left the central government’s employees and pensioners in a state of shock. A few days ago, the Modi government declined to release the DA arrears funds to the House. This decision by the government will come as a significant shock.
