8th Pay Commission: The central government approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission in January. After which the possibility of an increase in the salary of government employees has increased a lot. After this announcement, there has been a continuous discussion on how much the salary of central employees will increase. According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission should be at least 2.57.
If media reports are to be believed, the Pay Commission will base the fitment factor in the range of 1.92 to 2.86. If the recommendation of a 2.86 fitment factor gets the green signal, then the minimum basic salary of a government employee will increase from Rs 18,000 per month to Rs 51,480.
