8th Pay Commission: The recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission will soon be placed before the government. Then, the new pay commission will start working. Everyone is wondering when it will be implemented. Now, it is expected that when the government implements the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission, then dearness allowance, i.e. DA, will be added to the basic salary.

In such a situation, the DA of central employees will start from zero. This means that the calculation of DA can start again as soon as the new pay commission is implemented. This has been seen before as well. However, nothing has been said officially yet. Such claims are being made in media reports.

Will DA be included in the basic salary?

According to some data, dearness allowance can reach 61 per cent before the 8th pay recommendation is implemented. In such a situation, DA can be made zero after implementing the new pay commission. The existing allowance will be included in the basic salary. There is also a discussion that only 50 per cent of DA will be included in the basic wage.

If this happens, then 11 per cent of DA of that time will not be included. Right now, experts are making various speculations. However, no final decision has been taken on this issue yet. The government has also not given any apparent reason behind this. The next step will also be taken based on the new commission’s recommendations.

DA has already been adjusted in the basic salary.

With the implementation of the new pay commission, the calculation of DA starts from zero. The process of including DA in the basic salary is quite old. Experts say that according to the recladding, adding the entire 100 per cent DA received by the employees to the base is necessary. Still, many times, it is impossible due to financial problems.

This was done in 2016. Earlier in 2006, when the 6th Pay Commission was implemented, 187 per cent DA was given till December under the fifth pay scale, which was wholly merged into the basic salary. The government can still include it in the basic wage.
