Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana is an important scheme run by the Government of India to help farmers financially.

Under this scheme, the government deposits financial assistance of ₹ 6,000 to eligible farmers every year directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments.

Who is eligible

Land Owner- You must have less than 2 hectares of land suitable for cultivation.

Land papers- Your land should be recorded in government records (revenue records).

Farmer Registration- You must be a registered farmer with the Land Records Department of the State Government.

How to apply (online and offline)

Online- You can apply by visiting the official government website (pmkisan.gov.in).

Offline- You can fill out the application form by visiting your local Common Service Center (CSC).

Some important points

Aadhaar seeding- To avail of the benefits, farmers have to link their Aadhaar card with their land records.

eKYC- This is a verification process, which the government does to ensure that the benefits are reaching the right people. You can do e-KYC through the government website or the PM Kisan app.

Land seeding- The process of linking your land records with the PM-KISAN scheme is called land seeding. For this, you have to go to your nearest agriculture department office.

Bank seeding (NPCI)- Get your bank account’s NPCI done. To get NPCI done, contact your nearest bank branch with your passbook and Aadhaar card.

What to do if you don’t get installments

If the installment does not come to your account even after the due date, wait for a few days. If it still does not come, then possibly your bank account not being linked to Aadhaar, incorrect information or incomplete KYC may be the reason. In such a situation, you should contact your nearest agriculture office.
