However, there is no need to worry. You can order a PVC Aadhaar card online through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization responsible for issuing Aadhaar cards.

What is a PVC Aadhaar Card?

A Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Aadhaar card is a plastic card similar to a PAN card. It contains all your Aadhaar details and fits easily into your wallet, like a PAN or debit card. Its durability is quite high, making it a long-lasting option.

How to Get a PVC Aadhaar Card?

  • Visit the UIDAI Website
  • Go to the official UIDAI website and apply online for the PVC Aadhaar card.
  • Enter Aadhaar Number and Captcha
  • Fill in your UID number and the captcha code displayed on the site, then click on Send OTP.
  • Verify with OTP
  • You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit it.
  • Order PVC Aadhaar Card
  • Click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’.
  • Review your information, and click on the Next option.
  • Choose Payment Method
  • You’ll be given payment options like credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Pay the ₹50 Fee
  • Select your preferred payment method and deposit a fee of ₹50.
  • Complete the Order Process
  • Once the payment is made, the order process is complete. UIDAI will verify your details and print the Aadhaar PVC card within 5 days.
  • The Indian Postal Service will deliver the card to your home through speed post.

UIDAI currently offers Aadhaar cards in three formats:

  • Aadhaar Letter
  • e-Aadhaar
  • PVC Aadhaar Card

Note: PVC cards made in the market are not valid. UIDAI started offering reprints of Aadhaar cards on PVC in October 2024.

You can also apply for a new Aadhaar card offline by visiting your nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre and completing the necessary procedures there.
