If you want to update your photo, address, or other details on your Aadhaar card, you can do so for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar card updates to December 14. By this date, you can update your Aadhaar card details without any charges. To do so, visit the My Aadhaar portal. If your Aadhaar is 10 years old and you haven’t updated your details yet, you can take advantage of this opportunity.
What Can Be Updated
You can update your photo, address, gender, name, date of birth, and other details on your Aadhaar card. Additionally, you can also change the mobile number and email linked to your Aadhaar. To update your Aadhaar details, you may need documents such as a ration card, voter ID, passport, or address proof. You can easily update your Aadhaar details offline by visiting the nearest Aadhaar centre. A fee of Rs 50 will apply for offline updates.
Process of Updating Aadhaar Card Details
Step 1: Visit the Aadhaar website at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
Step 2: Log in using OTP.
Step 3: Once logged in, your profile will be visible. Update the information you want to change.
Step 4: Submit the details along with the required proof. Ensure the document size is at least 2 MB and in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format.
No charges apply for online updates that do not require demographic changes.
