The Government of India has made it mandatory for citizens to link their Aadhaar card with their ration card. This decision aims to ensure that government subsidies reach the right beneficiaries and to eliminate fake ration cards. To make this process easier, the government has introduced an online system, allowing people to link their Aadhaar card with their ration card from home. The process is simple and can be done using a mobile phone. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you complete the linking successfully.

How to Link Aadhaar with Ration Card?

1. Visit Your State’s Public Distribution System (PDS) Website

Go to the official website of your state’s Food and Supplies Department. The website name will usually be like “Food and Supplies Department [State Name].”

2. Login and Select the Aadhaar Linking Option

Log in to the website. If you haven’t registered yet, you’ll need to create an account. After logging in, look for the option that says “Link Aadhaar with Ration Card” and click on it.

3. Enter Aadhaar and Ration Card Numbers

You will be asked to enter your Aadhaar number and ration card number. Fill in all the details carefully and double-check for any mistakes.

4. Enter OTP

After entering the required information, an OTP (one-time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP in the designated box.

5. Complete the Linking Process

Once you enter the OTP, the linking process will be completed. You will also receive a confirmation message confirming that your Aadhaar card has been successfully linked to your ration card.

Important Points to Remember:

1. Link Aadhaar for All Family Members

Ensure that the Aadhaar cards of all family members listed on the ration card are linked. If any family member’s Aadhaar is missing, you may be deprived of the ration and other benefits.

2. KYC Verification is Mandatory

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is required to avail the benefits of government schemes. This includes Aadhaar authentication, mobile number verification, and fingerprint verification.

If you face any issues during the linking process, you can contact your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or visit the Food and Supplies Department office.
