Good news for many state workers before the Holi festival. The monthly pay for multi-purpose workers (MPWs) in the health department has been bumped up by five thousand rupees. They’ll now earn Rs 25,000 instead of Rs 20,000 each month. The catch is that this increase will only kick in starting September 1, 2024, so these health workers will receive back pay for the difference.

Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari mentioned that this pay raise is like a Holi and Ramzan gift from the state government to the employees, recognizing the hard work of MPWs. He also thanked the Chief Minister and the department officials for their support.

MPW workers are thrilled about this decision, as they’ve been pushing for a pay increase for quite some time. This move is seen as a significant step towards enhancing health services in Jharkhand. The workers plan to honor the Chief Minister, Health Minister, and department officials for their efforts.

It’s worth noting that MPWs are involved in various health initiatives, including malaria sample collection.

In another update, doctors at Jamshedpur’s Sadar Hospital in Parsudih are now required to report for duty on time. Civil surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal has issued firm directives after discovering several doctors absent during a recent inspection by the SDO. This situation is being taken seriously, as patients have faced significant issues due to doctors not being punctual. Complaints have been made in the past, and any negligence will lead to strict consequences for those who arrive late. The civil surgeon will personally oversee this matter.
