Earlier Ayushman Bharat Yojana was only for families living below the poverty line. But now the scope of this scheme has been increased.
Now all senior citizens above 70 years of age will also get the benefit of this scheme. This means that about 6 crore senior citizens will now be able to get free treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh in government and private hospitals.
How to get the benefit of the scheme
To avail the benefits of the scheme, first of all, it is important to know whether you are eligible for it or not. Eligibility can be checked online or at the CSC center. After eligibility, get your Ayushman card made.
Through this card, you can get cashless and paperless treatment in more than 29,000 government and private hospitals across the country.
How to Make an Ayushman Card
Online Eligibility Check:
Go to the official website pmjay.gov.in.
On the homepage, click on the option “Am I eligible?”.
Enter your 10-digit mobile number.
Enter the received OTP in the designated place.
Select the state, then enter the mobile number and ration card number.
Now the information will appear on the screen whether you are eligible or not.
Application at CSC Center
Call toll-free number 14555 and find out your eligibility.
If eligible, go to the nearest CSC center with your documents (Aadhar card, residence certificate, ration card, mobile number) and apply.
