Good news for state government employees. Vishnu Dev Sai’s government in Chhattisgarh has just made a fantastic announcement for thousands of government employees ahead of Holi. They’ve officially raised the dearness allowance for state government workers to 53 percent, bringing a wave of joy among the employees. This great news comes just in time for the Holi celebrations.

On March 3, Cabinet Minister OP Choudhary revealed in the Assembly that the government would implement this 53 percent DA increase in the annual budget for 2025-26. To put this plan into action, the Finance Department has now issued the necessary order.

The dearness allowance has been bumped up by 3 percent. According to the new order, state government employees will now receive a 53 percent dearness allowance, while those on the seventh pay scale will see their allowance rise by 3 percent. Meanwhile, employees on the sixth pay scale will enjoy a 7 percent increase, bringing their total to 246 percent. This change will take effect from March 1, 2025, and the updated allowance will be included in the salary for March 2025, which will be paid in April.

7th Pay Commission

Great news for government workers! This week, the government might be ready to surprise lakhs of employees and pensioners with a nice gift. Various media outlets are reporting that a 2 percent boost in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) could be announced before Holi, which is on March 14, 2025.

There’s a good chance we’ll hear about this DA increase during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Just so you know, this salary bump, part of the 7th Pay Commission that started on January 1, 2016, will directly benefit over 12 million central government employees and pensioners.
