The wait is over. Petrol and diesel prices for March 6, 2025, have been announced, and they remain unchanged from the previous day. The latest update on the website confirms that despite fluctuations in crude oil prices globally, the domestic market has not seen any impact on fuel prices.
Even with a significant drop in crude oil rates, Indian Oil Marketing Companies have kept their usual schedule, releasing the new prices at 6 am today. According to Bloomberg, Brent crude for May has decreased by 2.45% to $69.30 per barrel, while April WTI futures have seen a slight increase of 0.32% to $66.52 per barrel.
How are things looking in the metros?
Despite the global changes, petrol and diesel prices in India remain steady. Port Blair continues to offer the lowest rates, with petrol priced at Rs 82.46 and diesel at Rs 78.05 per liter. In contrast, Delhi’s prices are stable at Rs 94.77 for petrol and Rs 87.67 for diesel.
As per Global Petrol Prices.com, Hong Kong has the highest petrol prices in the world, costing Rs 298.94 per liter in Indian currency. The global average for petrol stands at Rs 109.68 per liter, but there’s a significant variation between different countries.
We see higher prices in wealthier nations, while poorer countries and oil-producing nations enjoy lower rates. Interestingly, the US, despite being an economically advanced country, has relatively low gas prices at Rs 117.34 per liter.
The last time oil companies adjusted petrol and diesel prices was in March 2024, when they increased rates by Rs 2 per liter each, and there hasn’t been any relief since then.
