Another major update is here regarding PAN 2.0. Big changes are coming to PAN card! The Indian government is set to introduce PAN 2.0, a new initiative aimed at enhancing taxpayer identification through advanced technology. This initiative features a unified digital portal known as Digitalaid, which will streamline the registration process for taxpayers.
With PAN 2.0, the Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN) will be integrated into a single digital framework. A centralized data vault will securely store all PAN information, and both new and existing PAN cards will include a QR code.
This QR code will facilitate easy verification and authentication. Additionally, any necessary updates to the card can be made effortlessly, and there will be no extra charges associated with PAN 2.0.
Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone with a PAN card can transition to PAN 2.0 without needing to submit a separate application. You simply need to apply for the card featuring the QR code. Your existing PAN number will remain unchanged. New applicants for a PAN card will need to provide valid identification and proof of address.
How to apply for PAN 2.0 online?
