The government has now taken another major step after issuing an order not to fuel vehicles with no pollution control certificate (PUC) in Delhi. Now PUC of those vehicles will not be made, which will not have a registration sticker on the windscreen.

The Transport Department of the Delhi government gave this order on Friday. This sticker is applied on the glass of all vehicles installed with high-security registration plates. It is a chromium-based hologram sticker, applied above the left side of the vehicle’s windscreen.

The Supreme Court has made the NCR mandatory high-security registration plate (HSRP) and color-coded stickers (third registration mark) based on fuel. If a vehicle does not follow these rules, then he can be denied the necessary services.

The Supreme Court gave this instruction in January this year. The Delhi government has implemented this order and now those vehicles have been instructed not to issue PUC, whose windshield has no sticker written on the number of the vehicle.

The department is sending SMS

The Transport Department is sending SMS to the vehicle owners whose vehicles do not have high-quality registration plates. Now it will also be written in these messages that PUC certificates will not be issued to vehicles without stickers.

The Delhi government has also said in its order that with the help of the IT department, it should be ensured that if there is no third number plate on a vehicle, it should be prevented from giving a PUC certificate. Even if a PUC certificate is issued by mistake, it should not be updated on the “vehicle” (Vahan) portal of the government.

What is PUC

Explain that the PUC Certificate, also called “Pollution Control Certificate”, is an important document that proves that your vehicle follows pollution control norms, and it is mandatory to drive a motor vehicle in India.

PUC Certificate ensures that your vehicle is not contributing to the spread of the road and it is safe for the environment. You can take the PUC test by taking it to any authorized pollution check center (PUC Center) and get the certificate.
