Major news for pensioners. Pensioners who receive benefits from social security pension schemes need to complete their annual physical verification by March 31. If they fail to do so, their pension payments will be halted. Shubham Nagar, the Assistant Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, mentioned that the development officer will handle verifications in rural areas, while urban areas will be overseen by the subdivision officer. Currently, around 31,010 pensioners in the district have yet to complete their annual verification.

Options for Verification

Nagar explained that pensioners can complete their physical verification through several methods: biometric verification at an e-Mitra Centre or Kiosk, face recognition or biometric checks using an Android app, or by receiving an OTP sent by the approving officer to their mobile number linked to their Aadhaar.

New Verification Options

Some pensioners are unable to verify due to missing biometric identification or a mobile number linked to Aadhaar. To address this, a new option has been introduced on the pension portal. Pensioners can now visit the approving officer’s office in person and complete the verification using documents like PPO, Janadhaar, or Aadhaar.

During this process, the annual verification will be confirmed through an OTP sent to the mobile number linked to the officer’s Aadhaar. All pensioners are encouraged to finish the verification process promptly to avoid any inconvenience.
