DA Hike Updates: We all know that the government has approved a revision of the pay structure, which is expected to bring about major changes. On top of that, there is good news for central government employees. Salaries and pensions are set to increase significantly. According to recent developments, salaries and pensions could rise by up to 92%!

One of the most important components of the pay revision is the “fitment factor,” which is a multiplier used to adjust the basic pay and pension of government employees. The National Council Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM), which represents government employees, has requested the government to use a fitment factor of at least 2.57.

A fitment factor of 2.57 means that employees’ salaries will increase by 157%. For example, under the Seventh Pay Commission, the basic minimum pay of central government employees increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 due to this multiplier.

How Much Will the Salary Increase with a Fitment Factor of 2.57?

If the government agrees to use a fitment factor of 2.57 in the Eighth Pay Commission, employees currently earning the minimum salary of Rs 18,000 will see a significant increase. With the 2.57 multiplier, their new minimum salary will be approximately Rs 46,260 per month.

How Much Can the Pension Increase with a Fitment Factor of 2.57?

The pension of central government employees will also see a notable rise. Currently, the minimum pension is Rs 9,000 per month. With the revised fitment factor, this amount will increase to Rs 23,130.

If the government accepts the NC-JCM’s demand for a fitment factor of 2.57 in the Eighth Pay Commission, central government employees can expect significant improvements in both pay and pension. This will benefit not only employees currently earning Rs 18,000 but also enhance the overall financial security of retired government employees. This salary revision will surely bring much-needed relief and happiness to lakhs of government employees across the country.

For example, under the 7th Pay Commission, the basic minimum salary of central government employees increased from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000 due to this multiplier. If the new recommendations are approved, employees could see a huge salary jump. This revision is expected to bring financial relief and stability to government employees and pensioners.
