In response to a question asked in Parliament, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that this train will be built in collaboration with the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, and BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited).
Ashwini Vaishnaw said in his written reply that after the success of Vande Bharat Express, the government is going to make a train running at a speed of 280 km per hour. The train will have an aerodynamic design that will help it run at high speed, he said.
Price of indigenous bullet train coaches
A few months ago, BEML was released Rs 867 crore to develop indigenous bullet train coaches, in which the company will build two train sets of 8 coaches each. Accordingly, the cost of each coach of the indigenous bullet train will be Rs 27.86 crore.
These features will be in the coach of the indigenous bullet train
Talking about the features of the coaches of the indigenous bullet train, they will be more high-tech than the coaches of Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Vande Bharat Express. In the coach of the indigenous bullet train, the passenger will be provided with facilities like a rotating chair, an onboard infotainment system, CCTV, an air conditioner, and a mobile/laptop charging point. Currently, India’s fastest train is the Vande Bharat Express, and its top speed is 160 kmph.
