The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has rolled out a new platform where people and businesses can pitch in their ideas to enhance tax processes and policies. On Tuesday, the CBIC announced the launch of the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ (EODB) platform. They also introduced an updated Citizen’s Charter, which outlines new timelines and service standards for key taxpayer services.

CBIC Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal kicked off these initiatives to boost the taxpayer experience and promote transparency. He mentioned, “By giving taxpayers a voice and taking their feedback into account, we’re building a system that’s not just efficient but also aligns with the needs and hopes of the citizens.”
Citizens Corner Portal
Additionally, the CBIC has unveiled the ‘Citizens’ Corner’ portal, designed as a one-stop shop for tax information. This portal makes it easier for taxpayers to understand their obligations and encourages them to comply with tax regulations voluntarily.
