The government has announced a new deadline for women to link their Aadhaar to the scheme. Here are the details you need to know. The Government of India has various initiatives aimed at empowering women across the country. To support this, state governments also roll out numerous programs to boost women’s participation in society. For instance, last year, the Jharkhand government launched the Maiya Samman Yojana specifically for women in the state.
This scheme has benefited thousands of women in Jharkhand, but there are certain eligibility requirements that must be met to access these benefits. Recently, the government made it necessary for women to link their Aadhaar cards to the scheme. However, they’ve now extended the deadline for this requirement, giving women more time to link their Aadhaar.
Women can link their Aadhaar by the new deadline
Linking the Aadhaar card to the Maiya Samman Yojana is mandatory as per the Jharkhand government. Initially, it was stated that women without an Aadhaar linked to their bank accounts would miss out on the benefits. Fortunately, the government has now eased this requirement, allowing women to receive their installments even if their bank accounts aren’t linked to Aadhaar.
They’ll still be able to enjoy benefits. The government has pushed back the deadline for linking Aadhaar. It was originally set for December 31, 2024, but now it’s been moved to March 31, 2025. So, women have over a month left to connect their Aadhaar to their bank accounts.
In Jharkhand’s Maiya Samman Yojana, women used to receive financial help of Rs 1000, but that amount has now been bumped up to Rs 2500. Many women benefiting from this scheme are eagerly waiting for the next payment. According to government updates, the next installment will be released soon.
