Right now the PAN Card is very important document to have. If you also have a PAN Card then todays article is just for you. A PAN card is super important for handling any financial or tax stuff in India. It’s issued by the Income Tax Department and serves as an ID number too. Besides your personal info, it also has your photo, making it a solid option for official verification.

Over time, you might notice that the picture on your PAN card isn’t looking so fresh anymore. If your photo is old or blurry, good news—you can update it! And the best part? You don’t even have to visit a government office; you can do it all online.

1. Visit the NSDL website (https://www.tin-nsdl.com/) or the official website of UTIITSL (https://www.PAN.utiitsl.com/).

2. On the homepage, select the option of PAN card correction / update.

3. Select Correction Form

4. Click on the link to access the online correction form (Form 49A for Indian citizens).

5. Here’s what you want to do with the existing PAN card information.

6. Now fill in your details here.

7. Provide information such as your PAN number, name and date of birth.

8. Select specific fields for correction, including the option of photo mismatch.

9. Upload a new photo.

10. Scan a recent passport size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) in JPEG format.

11. Make sure that the file size is between 4KB and 300KB so that it can be uploaded successfully.

12. Upload the scanned image to the specified section.

When you’re changing the photo on your PAN card, there are a few important things to keep in mind to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. First, you need to stick to the guidelines for the size and quality of the new photo. Make sure the image is clear, has the right dimensions, and is high enough in resolution to avoid any hiccups during the application process.

Double-check your info

Before you hit submit, take a moment to verify that all your details are correct, including your personal info and the new photo. Any mistakes or mismatches could lead to your application getting rejected, which will just slow things down. Typically, it takes about 15-20 working days to process.
