Union Budget 2025: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the country’s upcoming budget today, i.e., February 1. The Finance Minister has announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Yojana for farmers in the budget. The Kisan Credit Card limit has been increased to Rs 5 lakh. On the one hand, the Kisan Credit Card limit has been increased, but on the other hand, a big scheme has also been implemented. The government has announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana for farmers. This scheme will prove to be a boon for the farmers.
At the same time, the FDI limit for the insurance sector has been increased in the budget. Daycare centres will be opened in all government hospitals. Patna IIT hostel will be expanded. The prices of life-saving medicines will also decrease. Custom duty has been reduced on six life-saving drugs. Cancer treatment medicines have been made cheaper. Custom duty has been removed from 36 life-saving drugs.
Employment of 22 lakh people in the leather sector
The government will start the Focus Product Scheme for the footwear and leather sectors. Employment for 22 lakh people, turnover of Rs 4 lakh crore and export of Rs 1.1 lakh crore are expected to be generated. 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs will be established in government schools in the next five years.
What will become cheaper?
– Life-saving medicines will become cheaper. Cancer medicines will become cheaper. Apart from this, the prices of LED-LCD TVs will also decrease. The custom duty on these has been reduced. Lithium-ion batteries will become more affordable. EV and mobile batteries will become cheaper.
IIT Patna will expand
The central government has announced plans to increase the capacity of IITs. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said work will be done to create additional infrastructure in five IITs, and IIT Patna will also expand.
Further in Parliament, Nirmala Sitharaman said that apart from assistance for India’s footwear and leather sector, there is a plan for non-leather footwear. This government plan is expected to generate 22 lakh jobs and a turnover of Rs 4 lakh crore. Exports worth more than Rs 1.1 lakh crore are also likely.
