If you are also a Train lover then this article is for you. The meaning of an RAC ticket in Indian Railways is that you will get half the seat in the journey, but what will you do if you know that your RAC ticket is in waiting? Maybe you’ll be shocked at what they’re saying. But it has also happened. Recently, a person’s RAC ticket has gone into waiting.
A man named Kamlesh Shukla wrote on X account that he had booked a ticket from Ghaziabad to Deoria Sadar on November 20. While booking the ticket, the RAC RAC 42 ticket was received, but after some time he started seeing that ticket waiting (GNWL 63). After this, the railway gave its response to the post. Railway Seva, the official account of Indian Railways, asked the passenger to indianrailways.gov.in a personal message or share his mobile number on Dial 139.
On the post of railway service, Kamlesh Shukla has shared his mobile number and thanked the Railways for the response. After this, information was given by the railway that your complaint has been registered on the Rail Madad app. You can track your complaint.
Technical fault?
Indian Railways said that passengers mostly complain that despite showing the ticket in the RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation), their ticket goes to the waiting list. This is for technical reasons. Railways have accepted their mistake on this.
What does RAC mean?
The full form of RAC is Reservation Against Cancellation. In Indian Railways, RAC means that the passenger is allowed to travel, but he will get half the seat. He can share his seat with anyone on a berth. At the same time, if a passenger cancels the ticket during the journey in the train, then the ticket of that RAC passenger will be confirmed and he gets the full berth.
How can RAC be waiting?
Occasionally, due to technical glitches, the status of tickets appearing in RAC goes to the waiting list. This problem is seen due to technical flaws like software updates, server issues, or data synchronization.
Recently, the Railways has posted on its X that passengers are informed that due to some technical reasons, the message of ticket confirmation/RAC was sent by the system. It was later corrected by the technical team. Sorry for the facilities.
@RailMinIndia This morning, the PNR status was RAC 42, but by evening, it’s showing as Waiting 7. How did this happen? pic.twitter.com/Ktzi40QVUH
