Why does the government give the benefit of DA?

The central government increases the DA of its employees twice every year, the rates of which go from January 1 to July 1, 2025. The basic salary is determined based on the pay commission every 10 years. On the other hand, according to inflation, the government increases the DA of employees twice every year. The government had increased DA by 3 percent in October.

How much will the salary increase now?

After the 2 percent increase in the dearness allowance of central employees, there will be a bumper increase in the salary. If the salary of a central employee is Rs 40,000, then according to 2 percent DA, there will be an increase of Rs 800 per month. According to this, the salary will increase by Rs 9,600 annually, proving to be a big gift for the central employees. This amount will be considered a booster dose for inflation.
